Marie Karman Wilkins

Marie K Wilkins (Taylor) passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 12, 2021. She was born on June 4, 1942 to parents Bailey and Bea Taylor of Orting.  She lived in Orting, all of her life and graduated from Orting High School, Class of 1960.

Marie attended Beauty School and had her own Beauty Shop on the Main Street of Orting for many years. She worked I numerous other fields and retired from Orting Safeway a few years ago.

Marie was a member of the Lady Lions, Orting Eagles and over a 55 year member of Rainbow Rebekah Lodge No 31., Orting and Eola Rebekah Lodge No. 63 I.O.O.F., Buckley, at the time of her passing.

Marie is survived by her two children, Dwayne Erickson and Brenda Erickson, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many others from her extended family of the Wilkins Family. She is survived by her two sisters, Joy Rakes and her twin sister, Marcia Presley and 4 Nieces.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey and Bea Taylor, husbands, Dick Erickson and Jack Wilkins, two brother-in-law’s, Bernard Rakes and David Presley and two nephews, Shawn Rakes and Danny Presley.

There will be a public viewing at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup from 10:00am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. There will be a private graveside service at the Washington State Soldiers Home Cemetery, as she was a member of the Colony.

Memorial Service to be held on November 16, 2021 @ 1:00pm at Powers Funeral Home in the main Chapel, with Reception following the service.  Family requests casual attire AND bring your favorite memories of Marie.

Donations may be made in her name to the Orting Alumni Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 46, Orting, WA 98360, or your favorite charity in her name.

Marie will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
