Betty Rose Lybeck, age 81, passed away peacefully at home in Sumner, Washington, on July 14, 2025, due to kidney failure.
Born on September 23, 1943, in Columbus, Nebraska, Betty lived a life marked by resilience and warmth. Her journey was filled with love, connection, and joyful experiences that left lasting impressions on those around her. She was known for her strength and kindness – a devoted mother, cherished wife, and loyal friend whose presence brought comfort and joy.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Lybeck; her sister Margaret Koci; and grandson Nathan Buffington. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her sister Mary Lou Rice; brother Lou Schreiber; son Mike Hess; and daughter Teressa Fouraker as well as many friends and family.
Betty embraced life with enthusiasm and found happiness in the things she loved most. She had a passion for travel and delighted in exploring unfamiliar places – each adventure adding color to the tapestry of her life. Whether discovering new destinations or enjoying the familiar thrill of a casino visit, she approached each moment with laughter and excitement.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Rainier Manor Clubhouse, located at 14109 70th Street East, Sumner, WA
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn her passing.
