Daniel Lee O’Brien was born on July 4th, 1941 in Iowa. He passed away on July 18th, 2026 after recently celebrating his 85th birthday. He graduated from Pomona Catholic High School in 1959. He went on to attend several colleges, obtaining a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree from CAL State LA. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in several places including Indiana, Texas and Misawa, Japan.

In 1965, Dan married the love of his life, Perci, in Seattle. Dan loved his family and his faith. He really enjoyed singing, especially while celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. He and Perci traveled to many places including a trip to Ireland in 2010. He had many friends and family with whom he shared laughter, parties, stories and Jameson.

Dan was very active in the church including parish council, lector and cantor, and he was a member of the Serra club. He loved sports, baseball and football being his favorites. He was on softball teams most of his life. He also loved history, reading and crosswords.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents: Marie and Daniel; Siblings Thomas and James.

Dan is survived by his wife, Perci; daughters Jeanne Lange, Cheryl Williams (Brad), Corrie Skidmore (Pete); grandchildren Leslie Pugh (Mike), Christopher Lange, David Lange, Jr. (Nevaeh), Jason Lange (Paloma) and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Beth Silvano (Bob), Bruce O’Brien (Julie), Chet O’Brien (Renee); Sister-in-Law Debra and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 28th, 2026, 1:00 pm at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church 3939 SW 331st St., Federal Way, WA 98023.

The wake will be held immediately following the Mass at Twin Lakes Country Club.
