Dennis Orlin Wolff

Dennis (Denny) Orlin Wolff passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning on August 27, 2026. Denny was born on January 7, 1948, to Orlin Phillip Wolff (May 3, 1915 – December 22, 2005) and May Glyrette Egediusen Wolff (February 17, 1916 – March 12, 2017). He grew up in South Seattle alongside his brother, Daryl Bruce Wolff. Denny had many fun childhood adventures alongside his brother growing up which always included a messy kitchen or further mishap with friends which inspired him to write some books, including a fiction Precious Little.

Denny graduated from Highline High School in 1966. His experiences playing football and participating in other sports during his school years sparked a lifelong passion for loving sports. He became an avid sports fan and proudly attended the very first professional sporting event held at the Kingdome, a memory he treasured.

Denny dedicated his professional life to helping young people find their way. Throughout his career with the Puyallup School District and Franklin Pierce School District, he taught, counseled, and helped prepare students for their futures and careers. His ability to encourage others, share his wisdom, and make people believe in themselves was a gift he carried throughout his life. When speaking to former students, everyone speaks of his kindness and genuine support for others.

Above all, Denny loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Finnegan Wolff, his brother Daryl Wolff and his three daughters, Frances Wolff, Jeana Barbieto (married to Donovan Barbieto) and Jani Brown (married to Kevin Brown). He was also a proud grandfather to Carter Brown and Logan Brown. He also loved his furry children who were by his side any chance they got: Bear, Sugar and Daisy. His whole family is going to miss his sense of humor, words of wisdom and all his birthdays' songs he sang over the years.

Denny had a smile that could light up anyone's day and a way with words that could lift even the heaviest heart. His wisdom, humor, kindness, and unwavering love for his family touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and greatly missed.
