Service Date: 7/9/2019 11:30AM Cemetery: Tahoma National Cemetery Emanuel ‘Tony' Anthony Stabile of Puyallup, WA passed away June 17, 2019 in Tacoma, WA. Emanuel was born December 8, 1939 in the Bronx, New York. Tony spent his childhood in Brooklyn, New York before relocating to Miami, Florida at fourteen years old with his parents Anthony and Marie Stabile, and Brother Nicholas. Tony graduated Miami High School in 1957 and had joined the Air Force. While stationed at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Tony married Shizue June 1, 1961. During his military service, Tony and Shizue had two children, Michael and Marie. Throughout his career, Tony served in Okinawa Thailand, Philippines, and was a Vietnam Veteran. Tony served honorably, retiring as Senior Master Sergeant after 23 years of service. He had continued his service, retiring from the U.S. Post Office in 2001. Tony loved to fish and stay in touch with his fellow service members at annual reunions. He was a strong advocate for labor unions, fighting for workers' rights as the Bellevue, WA local union president. Tony loved his dogs, loved to feed his squirrels, and was an avid Sudoku player. Tony is preceded in death by his Parents Anthony and Marie Stabile, and Brother Nicholas Stabile. Tony is survived by his wife of 58 years Shizue, son Michael (Cheryl Ann Gunderson) Stabile, daughter Marie (Travis) Evans, granddaughter Sierra (Darrin) Clapham, Sister-in-Law Ingrid Stabile, nieces Mary Ann Carroll, Grace Brinkman, Barbara Lavelle, Rosemarie Roque, as well as Tony's brothers grandchildren, Juliet, Harry, Nikki, Chloe and Nick. Tony was exceptionally dedicated to his family and country. We will endlessly carry your memory. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
