Juliette Ramer Frank, cherished mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in Portland, Oregon, to Dr. Lloyd and Leonie Brooke, Juliette enjoyed a vibrant childhood as an only child, marked by her father’s love for horses and memorable summers spent at a family friend’s farm in Vancouver. She often reminisced about her time in Oysterville on the Oregon coast, a place that held a special place in her heart.
A proud graduate of Grant High School in 1945, Juliette furthered her education at Reed College before transferring to Whitman College in Walla Walla, where she met the love of her life, Victor Frank. They married and continued their studies at Central Washington University, earning degrees in Elementary Education and Business, respectively. Settling in Yakima, Juliette began her teaching career at Ahtanum Elementary School, where she poured her heart into educating young minds.
Juliette and Victor welcomed three sons into their lives: Steven, Michael, and Gregory, the latter tragically passing away at just six months old from SIDS. Juliette adapted to life with Victor’s large family, forming close bonds with the Frank family, especially with Jake and Bess Frank and their four sons. The couple enjoyed many adventures together, including memorable motorhome trips.
In 1963, the family relocated to Tacoma, where Juliette continued her teaching career at Wainwright Elementary School. After embracing the Baha’i Faith, it became a guiding principle for their lives, fostering deep connections within the Tacoma community. Juliette was actively involved in various local organizations, including a dance club and the United Nations chapter at the University of Puget Sound.
Later in her career, Juliette pursued a Master’s degree in Special Education from Portland State College, dedicating her life to supporting students with special needs. Even after retirement, she continued to substitute teach into her 70s and volunteered at Mary Bridge Children’s Therapy Unit in Puyallup. Her passion for children was evident in her pride for her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, often emphasizing the importance of a solid education.
Juliette was known for her warmth, her ability to connect with people of all ages, and her uplifting spirit. A true shining star, she made a lasting impact on everyone she met and will be profoundly missed.
Juliette is survived by her sons, Steven (Julie) and Michael Frank, grandchildren Heidi Christiansen (Sean), Melanie Sennert (Chris), Lori Boyle (Trevor), and Brian Frank (Teneal), as well as her great-grandchildren Carter and Kaitlin Christiansen, Rylee and Caden Sennert, Natalie, Brendan, and Griffin Boyle and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Lloyd and Leonie Brooke, her husband Victor Frank, and her son Gregory Frank.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mary Bridge Children’s Therapy Unit at: http://Support.Marybridge.org.
A memorial celebration of Juliette’s life will be held on June 26 at 1:00 PM at Powers Funeral Home, 320 W Pioneer Ave, Puyallup, Washington. Online condolences can be made at http://powersfuneralhome.com.
