Kathleen Mary Hopkins

Kathleen Mary Hopkins, 98 passed away on March 12, 2026. Born in Seattle, Washington she was the daughter of Henry Stevens and Jessie Rankin Stevens on November 28,1927. She attended the Auburn Adventist Academy. Upon his return from World War II, she married Edward L Hopkins on October 26,1946. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage, loving two sons: Steven 1948 (Kathy), Gary 1951 (Millie). Mom was proud to be a stay at home mother. Her family was her first priority. Excellent seamstress and avid gardener were her favorite activities. She was predeceased by her parents, Husband Edward in 2010, Brother in Law Ron Hopkins 1996, Great Granddaughter Angel Hopkins 2001, Granddaughter Brenda Hopkins 2020 and Grandson Kelley Hopkins 2025.

She is survived by Cousin Doris Rankin Daluth Minn. Sons Steve, Gary, Grandchildren Lara Gavre (Brian), Marc Einarsson (Daivn), Kym Riden. Also surviving are G.Grandchildren: Chloe Hopkins, Sarah Gavre, Owen hopkins, Tanner Hopkins, Jacob Gavre, Gracelyn Hopkins, Jayce and Scarlet Riden, Andi Einarsson, Tyler Hopkins (Rilyn) Gavre- Burrows baby August 2026. Also surviving Kathy were her dear friends Bernice and Joyce. Her beloved bible study group and many friend and acquaintances. she was also very involved in all neighborhood gatherings. famous for her potato salad, it was always a favorite. 

Viewing March 30th, at Powers Funeral Home. The Funeral and Reception is March 31. The Burial is April 1, 2026 at Sumner City Cemetery.
