June 11, 1957 – August 26, 2026

Larry Neil Mohler, 69, passed away unexpectedly in Puyallup, Washington, on August 26, 2026.

Born and raised in Puyallup, Larry met the love of his life, LaDonna, while they were still in junior high. They married November 1, 1974, beginning a partnership that would span nearly 52 years. In 1982, they made their home in the hills of Orting, where they raised their sons, Brandon and Jared.

Larry was an outdoorsman at heart who loved hunting, fishing, camping and clamming. An accomplished hunter, he was especially proud of his record Roosevelt elk. He also loved gardening, cooking and canning, and his legendary canned asparagus was a family and friend favorite.

Larry enjoyed traveling, good friends, a good joke and nearly 45 years of friendship and fellowship at the Orting Eagles. But his greatest pride was his family. He rarely missed his sons' soccer events and later carried that tradition on with his grandchildren. Being “Papa” to his grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of his life. Their simple “Papa adventures”—like trips to the park for lunch while he was babysitting became treasured memories.

Larry is survived by his wife, LaDonna; sons Brandon Mohler (Lena) and Jared Mohler (Sarah); and grandchildren Callie, Ella, Makenna, Hunter, Nicholas and Sibylla, his mom Carma, brother Dennis (Glenda), sister Barbara and favorite cousin Daryl Shelton (Kathy).

A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Orting Eagles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Orting Eagles in support of the Orting High School Scholarship Foundation.
