Laura Marie Stewart of Bonney Lake, Wa. passed away on September 10, 2025 at the age of 78 years old. Laura was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 2, 1947 to Virgil and Elizabeth Stewart. At the age of about 3 years of age the family, now including brother Dennis, moved to the town of Lindenhurst on the south shore of Long Island. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help school until transferring to Lindenhurst Public schools for Jr. and Sr. Highs. Upon graduation in 1964, she attended the University of Kentucky for 2+ years, then returned to Long Island where she attended and graduated from the Mandl School of Medical Assistants in 1966. Continuing her education, she graduated from CW Post college in 1977. She pursued her medical training into lab work where she eventually moved, along with her parents, to Bonney Lake, Wa. in 1982. She eventually became a Coagulation Specialist and worked at the Puget Sound Blood Center for 24 years until retirement.
Laura’s interests, aside from her profession, included gourmet cooking, all types of music, reading, movies and of course she was a die hard Star Trek fan. Also, her close involvement with her Catholic religion, specifically with St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sumner, brought her many years of fulfillment and friendships. Laura is survived by her brother Dennis, her nephew Dylan, his wife Ramee and their two children Dylan Jr. and Madison.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Andrews Catholic Church on September 29, 2025 and her viewing will begin at 10AM and the Mass will follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to your local SPCA or pet shelters in Laura‘s name.
