In Loving Memory of Luther Edwin Perkins- September 26, 1945 – July 3, 2026
A Celebration of Life
Luther Edwin Perkins, affectionately known as "Butch," was born on September 26, 1945, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Cecil and Mina Perkins. On July 3, 2026, at the age of 80, he passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord. While our hearts are heavy with loss, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life defined by faith, service, patriotism, and unwavering devotion to family.
Luther proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying the values of duty, honor, and sacrifice. His love for God, Country, and Family guided him throughout his life and was evident in everything he did.
Above all else, Luther was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He shared a loving and enduring marriage with his wife, Charlotte Perkins, who stood by his side throughout life.
Luther is lovingly survived by his wife, Charlotte Perkins; his daughters Patricia (Fred) and Kelly (Mike); his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Flink, Tayler Templeman, and Hailey and Taylor Woods; and his beloved great-grandson, Jack Woods, who brought him tremendous pride and joy.
He is also survived by his brothers, Jessie Perkins and Edward Perkins, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, and steady presence.
Those who knew Luther will remember his deep faith, his patriotism, his strong work ethic, and the unconditional love he showed to his family. He lived as an example of perseverance, compassion, and dedication. His greatest accomplishments were not measured by awards or achievements, but by the lives he touched and the legacy of love and faith he leaves behind.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. We find comfort in knowing that he has been welcomed home by his Savior and reunited with his son Scott and those who went before him. He will be laid to rest next to his son on July 14th at Sumner Cemetery at 11 am. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
