Marian Louise Bernard (Parker) was born on April 23.1936 at St. Joseph, Louisiana to Matilda Parker and Spencer Martin. She passed from this life on April 24,2025, aged 89 years. The second oldest of 9 children, Marian grew up in Hawthorne, Nevada with her mother and stepfather, Willie Brantley, Sr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Floyd White and Willie Brantley, Jr; sisters, Hester Woolfolk and Regina Tolliver and son, Ronald Brantley.
She is survived by brothers, Joseph Brantley of Las Vegas, NV, Reginald Brantley of Sparks, NV and Robert Brantley of El Paso, TX; sons, John Jackson (Debra) of Graham, WA, Kenneth Jackson of Las Vegas, NV, Steven Brown of Federal Way, WA and Michael Brown of Steilacoom, WA. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marian completed a 30 year civil service career as a weapons inspector at Keyport, WA. She then completed another 10 years as a sales associate for JC Penney. She was an excellent cook who loved shopping and spending time with family and friends.
The family is comforted in knowing that she has passed on to be with her relatives in heaven. We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the many friends who reached out to help our mother in the time of her greatest need. Words cannot convey our deepest gratitude for all that you have done. May God Bless your kindness.
A memorial service will be held for Marian at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup, WA on May 23, 2025 beginning at 11 a.m.
