Richard Henry Morey

Richard ‘Dick’ Morey of Sumner, passed away on February 27th 2026. He was born on October 9th, 1930 in Tacoma, Washington to Henry and Mildred (Morrell) Morey. He grew up in Milton, Washington. He graduated from Fife high school where he was the class accountant and had an award for drama. After high school, he joined the Navy which took him away from his home town. In the early 50’s, near Pacheco, California he met the love of his life Grace Mayberry. He is survived by his three sons; Walt, James, & Robert; five grandsons and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Eileen, and his Stepdad Glen. The Navy Seabees took the family to many places, Guam, Leesburg, VA, Chula Vista > Port Hueneme > Concord, CA, Adak, AK and then to Whidbey Island, WA. They moved to South Hill Puyallup in the late 70’s and were there until 2015, when Grace passed. He was loved by all he met! He will be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery where Grace is waiting.
