Robert (Bob) W. Prandi passed away August 14, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by loving family who never left his side.
Bob was born in 1932 to John and Mercedes Prandi. He was born on the family farm in Orillia, WA, where he grew up helping milk the cows, work the fields, and harvest the vegetables with his older brother Carlo and sister Rena. His time on the farm cemented his indomitable work ethic and lifelong love of gardening and animals. His tenacious spirit was inherited from his Italian immigrant parents, whom he loved and admired. He was raised in a tight-knit community of friends and family with love and traditions that he carried throughout the rest of his life.
Bob worked on the family farm up to and after graduating from Renton High School in 1950. He enlisted in the Army and deployed to Korea in 1952. Upon returning to the States and farm life, his good friend Leo introduced him to Rosie Zanga. They were married in 1958 and spent 68.5 years together building a family, making friends, and traveling. They bought a home and raised their family in Kent. During these years, Bob also cultivated his garden, made lifelong friends with his neighbors, became a day-one Mariners fan, and worked as a milkman for Darigold.
Bob was a husband, a dad, a papa, a brother, and an uncle. These were the most important roles of his life. To be part of his family was to truly know unconditional love. His work ethic, his tenacity, and his stubbornness all shaped the way he loved. He wanted to give us the moon, and we feel like we got it. Bob is survived by his wife, Rosie; his three children, Sue (Chris), Mick (Shelby), Bob (Marnie); his grandchildren, Nick, Eric, Owen, Lea (Brendan); his great-grandson, James; his sister, Rena; and his nieces and their children and grandchildren.
Bob made friends everywhere he went. From childhood pals, to Army and work buddies, to neighbors old and new, he took genuine interest in those around him. He was always there for his friends. Everyone could count on Bob.
Two of his best friends were his sister Rena and brother-in-law Frank Siccardi. Bob and Rosie spent years wintering with them and other friends in Arizona, playing cards and watching the Mariners practice. For 50 years the Prandi and Siccardi clans met up at Lake Chelan for summer vacations. From camping to motels to condos to renting houses, they cooked together, watched first steps be taken, taught grandkids to swim, greeted new in-laws, and generally spoiled grandkids with the kind of summer magic that can’t be bought.
We will miss you Bob. We will miss you Dad. We will miss you Papa.
A celebration of life will be held October 19th at Farm 12 in Puyallup from 10:30am to 2pm.
Donations can be made in Bob’s name to the Children’s hospital.
