Ronald Whitington Freeman 1937-2026
Ron passed away at the ripe age of 89. He loved God, his country, and his family (both church and natural). He ran his race and finished strong. Ron had a servant's heart and had volunteered at the church for many decades. Even in later years, he would be seen cleaning while wearing an oxygen unit. Truly a servant's heart.
Ron was born in 1937 to Howard and Ella Freeman in Tacoma. Ron was a military veteran and was a member of the Army Air Corps. He was very proud to have served his country and continued serving his country by working at Boeing on numerous military programs that contributed to the safety and freedom we enjoy today. He loved his family; he cherished his wife and mentored his sons, Glenn and Brett. Both live in Oklahoma and have children of their own. Ron and Maureen have 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ron met Maureen while trying to contact his sister, Donna. Ron knocked on Donna's apt door but no answer so he went to an adjacent apt where Maureen lived to ask when his sister would be back. He married Maureen in 1965 on Christmas Eve and the rest is history.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Donna. He is survived by his wife Maureen and his sons. He was a mighty man of God whose faith never wavered and an inspiration to his family.
"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. (Why?) For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 NLT
