Deanna May Hasenwinkle passed from this earth on November 14, 2023. She was born on May 18, 1937
to Eleanor M. and Donald E. Hall of Olympia, Washington. She graduated from Olympia High School and
attended the University of Washington where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. At age 19
she was selected as Miss Washington State of 1957 to compete in the Miss America Pageant.
Deanna worked in a variety of occupations, ranging from Assistant Director of the Seattle Municipal
League, Director of the Multi‐Service Center of South King County, to Assistant Director of Medical
Licensing for the State of Washington. She had a deep interest in politics at both the national and local
level, and ran for office twice.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl D. Hasenwinkle whose life will be celebrated along with
Deanna’s. She was also predeceased by her parents, her son, James Donald Dicomes, and her daughter
Deborah Jo Jacobs. She is survived by her sister, Jo‐Carol Ropp, her daughters, Trissan Dicomes and Ann
Hasenwinkle Williams, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A warrior throughout life, Deanna was a force to be reckoned with whether championing for others, her
family and her friends, or for herself. She lived a full and satisfying 86 years, creating memories and
forging friendships along the way. She will be missed by all.
