Dorothy (“D.”) Sue Wallace, 86, of Tacoma, passed away on May 17, 2022. She was born
September 14, 1935 to Stanley “Fuzzy” Elliott and Kinko Elliott in Puyallup.
After graduating high school she excelled as a writer for The Ranger newspaper at Ft. Lewis.
She had her own column, Woman’s World, from 1958‐1961. This is where she would meet her
future husband, fighter pilot Captain Harvey Lee Wallace. She retired from writing and married
on January 16, 1961.
Due to the call to duty and rigors of military service, she and her family traveled from base to
base from 1961 to 1971, finally settling in Tacoma. She remained at the same residence until
Harvey passed away on February 18, 2022.
D. Sue Wallace was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Brooke Schwartz. She is survived by
her daughter Melissa Kay Gudmundson, her son Harvey Lee Wallace Jr., three grandchildren,
and six great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at Sumner Cemetery on June 7 at 10am, hosted by Power
Funeral Home.
