James Fredrick VanDerWall

James (Jim) Fredrick VanDerWall, 74, of Spanaway, WA. Passed away on October 30, 2023. Jim was born in Spokane, WA on November 12, 1948.

He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Jim will be remembered for his love for his family, friends, and the outdoors.

Jim was married to his wife, Cheryl VanDerWall, for 46 years. She meant the world to him.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children Shannon (Austin) and James Jr (Pear). and his 4 grandchildren Ashlynn (8), Hadlee (7), Blake (6), and Aline (5) as well as his sister, Sharie (Collins). He shared very special bonds with his 4 grandchildren. He loved them so much.

Jim was a devoted family man, who always provided for his family, in every sense of the word. He was a strong man with the strongest hands. He loved to tinker and fix/work on projects, a handyman who loved to help others. He loved to be on the water, especially Sturgeon Fishing on the Columbia River. He enjoyed metal detecting with friends.  Jim will be remembered for his love for his family, friends, and the outdoors.
