Jarrett Arturet Obituary

Jarrett Anthony John Arturet, 34, passed away unexpectedly on April 17th, 2020.  He was born to Carlos A. Arturet (Kellie) and Doreen (Steffen) Oakes (Gary) in Seattle, WA.  He leaves behind a sister Ileah Teresa Arturet, Grandmother, Dorothy (Steffen) Bradley and Teresa Millan Arturet, many cousins Ritchie, Brandon, Zoe, Ava, Zander, Destiny, Brooke, Chico and Melissa, Vinnie and Gianna, Uncle Tony, Aunts Dayle (Paul),  Alicia (Hector), special friends, Revea Bonner of Regina, Saskatchewan and childhood friend/brother Lukas Zorich. Preceding him in death are his Uncle’s, John (1979) and Joel (Holli)(2011) and Grandfathers Donald Steffen (2019) and Antonio Arturet (2006).

Jarrett loved having a double middle name that honored his two grandfathers and an uncle he never met.  He was also very proud of his Puerto Rican and German heritage.  He proudly hung a Puerto Rican flag in a window of his home.

He grew up in Auburn, WA and moved to Nebraska after graduating from Auburn Senior High School. After 3 years he moved back to WA and worked for Target in Logistics for several years.  He enrolled in their management course after which he received an opportunity elsewhere.  In 2013 he took a night warehouse job at The Odom Corporation in Kent, WA.  In a short time he became a supervisor and eventually the Night Shift Manager.  He enjoyed doing warehouse work and expressed often how he missed the physical activity of it after moving into management.

In 2018 Jarrett moved back to Auburn to live in the childhood home he grew up in.  He was most comfortable living in seclusion engaging in his fantasy world of online gaming and real time sports.  He was an avid reader and had amassed a considerate collection of manga books and other fantasy collections.

Jarrett’s passions in life were music, sports and media.  He was particularly fascinated with European football (soccer), Bayern Munich was his favorite team, and his local Seahawks.  He could probably recite every player in the league and give you an opinion about it.  He loved to talk smack with friends during games.  He was an excellent basketball player. Since childhood he was a dedicated amateur audio engineer mastering his own original digital tunes and created a variety of original sounds.

In his last 6 months he had started a lifestyle change of diet and exercise working out religiously 5 days a week. He had lost 50 lbs. and was expecting to reach his goal weight by June 2020.

Jarrett was very guarded with people.  Those who were fortunate to get beyond the wall he put up considered him a loyal friend/brother. He leaves behind an abundance of coworkers and friends who he probably never realized what a positive influence he had on many of them.
