Joseph Stanifer Obituary

JOSEPH BRADLEY STANIFER 2/28/41 - 11/12/20

Born in Hamilton Ohio February 28th 1941 to John and Myrtle Stanifer

Joe loved at an early age.  One of his first was the love of competition and athletics.  Football, baseball, softball, bowling, golf,  and especially the lifelong support he gave to THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES.

He graduated from Garfield High school and enlisted in the Army in 1958, as

Veteran of foreign wars he transferred to Fort Lewis Washington in 1961. As luck would have it his transfer would lead him to the love of his life Dorothy Louise Carrier.

They married in 1961 and settled in the little town of Orting Wa where their family grew as did his love for his new hometown.

Joe was Employed as long time logger by St. Regis then retired from the Rainer State school where he was a caregiver at the Hyak house. Joe loved his job and all the people who encompassed his life.

After retirement Joe & Dode enjoyed road trips, spending time with family and loved to attend grandchildren's sporting events, and of course going to the casino.

Joe loved the Orting Eagles #3480. He was a dedicated charter member and a worthy past president. He cherished all of his long lasting friendships built there.

In December of 2013 after 52 years of marriage Joe lost his beloved wife Dorothy.

Although beset by his grief Joe, the patriarch of his family, managed to convey his love

to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Through all of his life Joe enjoyed the journey and gave far more than he took.

He leaves behind many dear friends and will be greatly missed. It give us his family great comfort that he is now in Heaven with the love of his life our momma where his heart longed to be.
